At least that's my nick name for it till I can change that hideous color scheme. I think the E Flite graphic designers are 1990's failed tatoo artists LOL. Other than the colors, I'm happy with it. I can't remember being this excited over an RC thing in a long time. I've been wanting the 400 for over a year, thanks to my LHS owner letting my fly (okay, hover) his. :D

This thing is HUGE compared to my other birds. That coffee table is 45 inches long.

I also picked this up, I can't stop playing it, it's SOOOO addictive. I have the lappy hooked up to my HDTV, and a USB extension cable ran across the room. And wireless keyboard / mouse on the coffee table so I don't have to get up to change any settings. :p:

Nice, you will find that sim to be very usefull.

Yep, it definitely helps, as does my Honey Bee FP.

That thing is HUGE!!! One day I am gonna get the main frame in the CP and have some fun too!

Yeah, big change from the 250 - 300 class birds I have. Much more stable, but more responsive at the same time if that makes any sense. I've only hovered it around, as I haven't went through it thoroughly and done the setup on it yet. Even then, I'll be taking it slow, "baby steps, baby steps." :hehe: But I fly my Honey Bee all the time since it's my learner heli. Super durable, I've lawn darted it three or four times and it's yet to cost any money to fix, just time. It's fixed pitch, but other than altitude changes, it handles like a CP heli and will get away from you just as fast a CP heli, which makes it a great trainer. You get the heli, with 2.4 radio, a lipo pack + charger, a sim cable and a free somewhat decent sim for about $120 shipped.

Yep, you need to fix it, good flying weather is here for a short time before it gets hot as hell (literally) where you live.

It looks like a really nice bird. I'd eventually like to get one when I can actually fly my Blade mSR instead of crashing it into walls, floors and the ceiling....

Thanks hamz. I'm liking most of the stuff about it so far, except that putrid yellow color. :hehe: Just spent an hour flying circuits, and practicing side & nose in and auto rotations on the sim. I still crash the MSR every now and then, but mostly due to trying things I shouldn't be trying becuase it's so durable. :hehe:

Grats dude! The 400 is a really nice machine. I've flown a few of them and they are a blast to fly..handle 3D flying as well which is nice. They also make great frames to use as a base to do mini-scale build-ups. I had several .50 size helis...best I ever flew was the Align T-Rex 600N. Was an amazing chopper. It begged to be thown around and loved to hover inverted. Evil, evil heli...LOL :)

Good luck with it as I'm certain you will enjoy it man!

Congrats! I love heli's but I think I better stay on the ground. I haven't fixed me CX-3 since I crashed and I'm really not sure if ever I will.

Thanks Racer. Helis are by far the hardest hobby I've ever tried to learn. The challenge is what keeps me hooked. Well, that and once you get into a 400 -450 size brushless bird they just sound cool as hell spooling up. :D

Thanks man. It will be a LONG time before any 3D for me. The 600's are awesome, but battery cost alone is a deal breaker. You can get a Trex 600 clone kit with blades for about $150 - $200, but then the batterys are $200 -$250 EACH :whhooo:

The first few minutes of audio should impress you. If I'd known just how cool it sounded close up I would have spun it up slower. I love the purrrr of the blades when they come up to speed :) and the noise of them ripping the air to pieces over head the camera. Also about 1/2 way through the video there is the sweet chirping of the blades spinning over at low speed.

Very cool PaulC. If you ever get the chance to watch someone throw a heli around in a 3D routine live, the sound is intoxicating. Hearing the blades literally biting into the air on a 50 or 90 size bird with carbon blades is badass, and something I'll never forget getting to see in person.

Nice, those little electrics are fun to goof with..here's one of me and my MX400....I have another of my TRex 450...and a few more of my nitro helis on there :) Not alot to see really in any of them...they are hard to follow with a cam...lol

Enjoy...

You sir have some really nice birds. Especially the scale MDX and Schweitzer.

Thank bud. The MDX had a fatal crash...lifted off and got about 10 feet in the air and the engine quit..I knew I should've changed the glow plug..DOH!! At that altitude, its hard to auto-rotate and be very effective...lol Schweizer was sold to a buddy who has yet to fly it and that was a few years ago. I currently don't own any helis but have been considering another scale...just unsure of which and if I really want to jump on that wagon again..lol Thanks again :D

OUCH!! That sucks man. The bad part is, most people think of the money when someone crashes. I think of the time it took to get a heli properly set up, the money thing is there with any hobby. I can't imagine the time you had in building that MDX. I agree on the wagon thing too. Four months ago I had one heli, I now have four. :hehe:
