With summer and hot weather upon us I am having trouble keeping the darn thing cool. So, as the name implies I am wondering what is in your opinions the best TRX 2.5 cooling head. I did a search and it appears alot of people like the Hardcore racing mutant cooling head.

I have the acncm and the mutant head

love em both

I've used frequently or driven a buddies truck that used...

Golden Horizons - WOkrs great and looks good but it's got a high profile (Read it could get banged up or shear off during violent roll-overs). After a while the finish on the Golden Horizons head doesn't't look that great. You can find them comparatively cheap (compared to the HCR and NOVA) if you know where to look.

HCR - Mutant Head - Looks great and works good. IT doesn't offer the cooling of the Golden Horizons head IME but it's MUCH better then the crap stock head. It's roughly the same size and design shape as the stock head. I really love the fact that it offers substantially increased cooling without a high profile like the GH head.

Nova - Looks AWESOME and works great but it's expensive comparatively. It has a higher profile then the stock head but it doesn't stick up as much as the GH head. This head is "wider" then the GH. The only complaint I have about this head is that it can be expensive but it's worth every penny imo.

I've head good things about the ACNCM (americanCNCmachining) head but I've never personally used one or seen it in action.

I have the golden horizons head works great and yes it would not look as nice all scratched but if you put a few zip ties trough the top it would stop from wrecking the top of the head.

Absolutely, I ziptie all my cooling heads but that wont keep the cooling head from shearing off during harcore bashing. The high profile is the only thing I take issue with on the Golden Horizons head...other then that it's a great head. If your doing hardcore bashing it might not be the best choice, then again if your doing hardcore bashing then what are doing do with a TRx 2.5?lol.

Yeah the ACNCM head is pretty high and if I were to get one for the Hyper 21 I would more than likely kill that one since it would be going into a buggy. Having a buggy means no fear in jumping!!and risking damage due to flips gone wrong. The acncm on my Picco 26 is rocking and I got a trade for one on a 2.5 . You guys know that those mills run hot so why not?

I really liked the HCR Mutant head when I ran the 2.5. Kept it cool and kept cg lower than other aftermarket heads.

That links not workin for me for some reason and I found it on google but the link from google wasn't working either, their website may be down right now.

I have the ACNCM monster head on mine. It's amazing what more cooling can do for that engine. It is tall, but mine is inside a Humm-V body and is totally protected.
