What are a good set of shocks for racing? I have a Nitro Evader St. Also, what weight oil do you guys recommend?

The stock shocks should work. They are aluminum bodies, but they dont have threaded bodies. The clips will work though. Its all about personal driving skills. There is no set oil/spring combo, and all tracks are different... Try starting with 30 wieght oil.

Thanks, actually the stock Evader shocks do have threaded bodies, they just don't seem that smooth. I assume increasing the oil weight would help with that? I'm not sure what they put in stock. I haven't rebuilt them yet. My buddy has a XXXNT RTR 2 and it just glides across the dirt, smooth as butter.

with the evader shocks they are good shocks
try this ..
remove the shocks and tear apart as if you were going to rebuild them, once you have them apart get a real fine pc of sand paper like 400 or so ,take the shock piston and lightly buff the outer edgses because when they are made the mold leaves a slight sharp edge around the outside ,just sand enough to remove this and rebuild then fill with 40 or 50wt oil and adjust the shock body so the spring holds the truck at a level position .
you want to push it down and when it rebounds the arms should be level across or a little arc'ed upwards that should give you a better rough track feeling and handle alot better
