You need to see what the rules are for the class that you'll be racing in. You wouldn't want to buy a .26 and then go to the track to find out that a .21 is the biggest that you can run in your class. I, however, think that the .26 is going to put you in about the same shape as the .28. One of the magazines did a comparison of a .21 against a bad ass .28 in a test a few months back. They ran both engines in the same buggy and recorded a lot of data on each motor. It turned out the .21 was much faster than the .28 because it was so much more controllable. I would think that something like the OS 21TM will provide you with plenty of power, but make sure that you can run that in your class at the track. I had a Savage and I love them, one of the best bashers out there. However, it's not for racing. Because it's so strong, it's also top heavy and can't handle worth anything compared to the Revo or a truggy. I'm with the other guys, go ahead and buy a truggy. I'm $1500 into my Revo race build and I'm still collecting parts, and have a good bit left to go. I wish I would have spent the money on a nice truggy kit.
