ok now I'm movin on up I've had my 2.5 for atleast 3months and its kinda getting boring so i want more power and better tuning. which engine under $200 is the best. please help me out

ohhh yea i forgot to mention i want an engine that will just drop in with no modifications

Sirio .18 with big bore pipe. I have this setup and love it.

how does the team orion wasp .18 compare to the sirio.18 and if i were to get the sirio would a THS pipe for a 2.5 work or should i just get the big bore

Picco .26/Wasp .26 with RDLogics pipe or THS pipe. Might be a little over $200 with the pipe but that's one mean MOFO combo.

OOOOhh you only want a drop-in..hehe. SIrio .18 but just the engine alone is gonna run ya about $189.00 new. You can get the SIrio Big bore pipe on E-bay for $36.00 shipped.

If you don't wanna spend that much I'd seriously look into the Wasp .18 drop in for the stock maxx chassis.

Got a friend with that .18 Sirio in his Maxx. That thing is incredibly fast !!! It holds a tune well and runs cool. It's a blast to watch him punch it, pull a wheelie and ride it right into the shift for 2nd gear where he continues to wheelie. All this from a .18, wow !

Seems as though everyones afraid of a little modding.... Dont shy away, just do it... You really can't screw things up that bad...

well what would i have to modify if i were to get a bigger engine and would it be hard

The only .21 that will bolt in without a conversion is the Picco P2. You could drop it in then just replace stuff as it breaks. I would expect the drive shafts to go first.

The P2 is around $200. You could use the stock 2.5 pipe but it seems to restrictive. I would put on a Sirio big bore in this application as well.

would that P2 fit in the t-maxx that came with the old PRO .15 ... not sure how many versions there are, 2 or 3... maybe more i dunno. I keep reading i need to convert it to 2.5 first... can someone tell me exactly what i need. Is the 2.5 longer or anything meaning i need a new chassis and braces??... i want wheelie power!...btw i got rid of the pro 15 logn ago, replaced it with a os 15 cv-rx. it wheelies now a bit, more when i take the front drive shaft off. but i want a .21 :) or maybe ill look into the serio .18

Hey dude...that's allot of questions that bring up allot of corelated questions.

First off..Like I've said many times before. Wheelies are great for about 15 minutes until you realize you can't control the car when the front wheels are off the ground. I c people corelate overall engine power with wheelies which is just rediculous...lol. To each their own I guess. I can get a 2.5 maxx to wheelie with relative ease but that doesn't mean it's fun or "better"!

As for the P2 BIG Bore engine that fits in small bore setups and big bores in general and small bore Maxx chassis.

Their's two fundamental points to a true Big bore conversion

1. You have a longer chassis that gives you more stability @ high speeds.

2. You have a stronger chassis that can handle the real torque that big bores can throw out compared to small bores.

The original Maxx has a side exhaust with a rotary carb. The 2.5 Maxx has a rear exhaust with a slide carb. The 2.5 maxx chassis has three holes to the right of the engine mount area for a thorttle linakge for the slide carb. The .15 Maxx with slide carb doesn't have this. You CAN'T run a slide exhaust carb like the 2.5 on an original .15 Maxx chassis unless you drill three holes for the throttle linkage setup.

That P2 engine is kick ass from many accounts but again c the above points for a big bore conversion. Your putting big bore power on a standard size Maxx chasiss. The other serious things to consider is the fact that you can easily fry your stock plastic tranny gears with a big bore like the P2. CVD's, Steel tranny gears and properly shimming your diffs is a must if you step up to a big bore engine. Big bore chassis or not.

I'd look into the Wasp .18 which is a sweet engine for the price or the kick ass but expensive SIrio .18. If you have the money for a P2 you might as well get a proper Big bore conversion and standard big bore engine.

thanks for the info. i guess you right....a wheelie is cool but yea i want to rocket away, and if it wheelies it wont be so great. I might just keep the OS 15 cv-rx . It does a good job for what I'm doin.

ok i have two engines in mind now the picco p2 and the sirio .18
i found a place where they sell the p2 for the same price as the sirio and i was wondering which would have more power and better tuning

hmm, both nice engines, but i think id spend the little extra and go for the Ofna .21 Picco Max Engine then the Picco P2. Theyre prolly both for the 2.5 because theyre slide carbs...y would the smae company make 2 engine pretty much the same... o well, hs specs, so there next to each other, easier to comapare.
