Hello everyone,

You can tell from my sig. i already have a slightly modified tmaxx. I will soon be putting in the new Sirio .23 motor. I need to get the best low-mid pipe/header combo for it, what does everyone suggest?

Now for my other questions: I'm looking for upgrades to make my tmaxx strong and reliable. I do alot of jumping and all around bashing with it. I'm wanting to get ideas of what everyone suggests for upgrades. If you see something I already have installed in my sig. and you think i could get something better, please do list it. I'm not worried about replacing stuff that is already aftermarket if something esle is MUCH better than what i have. I don't like my Integy shocks, so i'm looking for replacements there, however I do like the fact that they have resovoirs, and that after I bent the shafts on two of them, i was able to bend them back.

I just got a new integy chassis because i broke the stock chassis clean off where the bulkhead braces are attached, so the integy parts are deffanetly stronger than the stock chassis. lol

Also, PLEASE list any other parts you think would make my maxx better whether it be for performance or cosmetic. I not really worried about the money.

Also, if possible, please refrain from using all the abbreviations that i see all over this website, as i don't have all the lingo down yet :)

thanks!

Welcome to RCNT!

First off I just got the SIrio 23 and am still in the break in process. I am getting a sirio big bore pipe to use as I have asked the LHS and members here and agree that the sirio big bore is sufficient. I may even put an 063 pipe on for kicks. I do know that the Bulkheads do suck and would replace em with something stronger. I heard the Integy ones suck but I have no experience with em. I plan on getting the ACNCM bulks. Check out at ACNCM.COM. They have a lot of things to stregthen the Maxx. I currently have RPM skid on my MAxx. happy with them. I currently don't run an body but rather a cage that is a RCRAVEN knock off.

Shock wise I use 4 Unlimited Engineering shocks, 1 on each corner and they are way better.

Integy stuff do looks good but not for hardcore bashing. (They bent like noodle - said by olds). I do agree with him. ACNCM or rc-solutions is the way to go if you planning on bashing. If money is the the problem then I will go for rc-solutions. Get the the full package of "Nitro Cyber-maxx". It comes with everything you need including the strong roll cage I ever seen. It is only $274.95 and it will protect your 300 dollars engine.

By the way, jon2 can you post the link to the UE shock? I might need to change mine pretty soon.

Here is my opinion. Stop the way your building it now and look at hardcore racings mutant maxx conversion. That is what i want to do with mine and have heard it is awsome with that.

You can tell from my post you will need to modify your sig to comply with the rules. :p:

Thanks,
-Ed

that is what the mutant maxx does. It turns it into a truggy.

I like your link Jon2!! Nothing like a full blown SuperMaxx! Lets see him say that money is'nt a problem now! Still building my SuperMaxx! All I have left if the VBS and Diffs. Oh, and the Supershocks! Another $500 something and I'm done! The only thing I would go with made by HardCore Racing is their skid plates. I would steer clear of American CNC Machining, they bend like a noodle also! I know, this is the first stuff I bought for my Maxx! Just my .02!!

Woody

What was wrong with his signature??

hey all, thanks for all the great advice, i'm going to look into all that stuff and i'll let you know what i decide. I did however just purchase yesterday a new JR mx3s radio with servos. I havn't got it in yet, but i will tomorrow. I can't wait! Also, i've been looking at these shocks called powerstrokes, are they any good? and how do they compare to my Integy's I already have? I can pick them up for $160.

Also, what is wrong with my sig? Let me know, i'll be happy to change it. :)

well, i did end up getting the new JR radio, i'm going out now to install it. i'll let everyone know how it goes

Holty, I sent you a pm.

The Mutant is up for sale if anyone is interested. The price is negotiable with or without all of the spares and electronics.

Anybody else have any input here? How about those Proline Powerstroke shocks? Also, besides the Sirio .23, what are all the different choices in drop in Tmaxx engines and which ones are the best? Thanks!

I would strongly suggest against going with those power stroke shocks! Try the 1/8 scale rear buggy shocks, or just go with the Unlimited Engineering shocks!

OK, I did some serious thinking LOL, I just ordered my UE Thunder chassis, RacerX suspension, and GA bulkheads w/ braces. :) I'm also reconcidering my engine options. Now I'm thinking either the Fantom. 27, the Ofna/Picco .26, or the Wasp .28. Does anybody have any opinions on these motors? I also need to know if I made the right choice in suspensions? I hear mixed things when it comes to the UE EXT suspension and the RacerX suspension. Which one is going to be better for bashing? I chose the RacerX because of the significant weight savings, but will it hold up to bashing like the EXT would? I still think i have time to change my mind so your opinions would greatly help me out. thanks.

Holty,
You will find when comparing the Picco to the Fantom 27 and the Wasp 28 that the Picco quality is much higher. I would consider the Picco or your first choice, one of Sirio's models before considering the other two that you have mentioned. Fantom and Orion have made some great mills but I'm unimpressed with the quality of their 27 and 28's.

thanks strechm for your input, what other motors do you recommend. i want only the highest quality stuff or close to it anyway. i do like the ofna/picco .26, but liked that the .28 was bigger. which ones are easiest to tune?

You need to understand that I do not race, I only build them and bash them then sell them to start another project. I've done some recent research on the .28's and from what I've learned the porting is less than what you may want for the power that you are looking for.
Any of the Picco 26s work great. I've had two of the Ofna/Picco Outlaw 26s in T Maxxes, very quick! The Sirio 27 I can personally vouch for. I have the non pullstart pro version in a truggy and on of the lhs techs has the pullstart racer version in a Savage. They are very powerful engines for pushing the heavier off road mt's.
At the lhs we layed out the Sirio, 23 and 27, the RB C5 and 28, Fantom 27, Orion Wasp 28 and the Top 28 on the counter side by side to get an idea of what type of quality the mfrs were producing. The Wasp 28 and Fantom 27 failed miserably and the RB 28 and Top 28 are incorrectly ported. The RB C5, Sirio 27 and 23 seemed to be the most impressive out of the lot. Many of the UE racers use the RB WS7 as thier choice.
Undoubtably there are many more that I am unaware of.

Just from my personal experience the Sirio's were the easiest to tune. I cannot speak for the RB products, I have not owned one.
