can anyone give me some input on a really good engine for bashing for my savage xl? i just picked up a savage xl with a 5.9 and et me say i have heard alot of bad things about the 5.9.. so i want something that will last.. something for around 200 buks.. i have tried lrp 28, and lrp 30 and i think they are really great engines, and i have seen some people like the picco 28 but heard they are difficult to keep tuned.. and i wanna know if anyone have some good choices to go with?

I ran the LRP .30 on my xl and it was a great engine. You mine as well beat the piss out of that 5.9 as long as you got it, no reason to waste a good engine.

yeah as far as i know.. its a 2 gallon run 5.9 and it has a slightly modded sleeve for fuel economy. and the guy says he ran it and it ran great still has lots of pinch, and comes with a brand new front bearing not even installed yet.. he said it doesn't leak but if it ever does, i can replace it for free.. so right there i think thats a good thing.. he said there was a bad batch of 5.9 engines, but this one has run strong from the beginning..
i loved my lrp engines.. they were fast as hell in my revos.. in my savage xl on the other hand.. i always blew diffs.. lol so i didnt like it so much, but i think that had alot to do with the old style difs and the bad shimming/ no shimming

heres a pic of the engine.. i know this pic wont matter but thought id throw it out there.

let me know what yall think

Heck I'd run it....what have you got to lose at this point? The axial engines are known for air leaks, not bad performance or longevity.

The biggest problem I had with the 5.9 is the owb would crap out pretty quickly. I went through 3 of them in about a month. Plus the holes in the block for the backplate cracked they are drilled to close to the edge and if you're not careful the block will split along them causing a permanent air leak.

I will see what i get from this guy. I hooe the 5.9 is in the same condition he explains it to be. I will be using it for a while till i can get something beter

Well it comes with the truck. I havent gotten the truck yet its on its way

Lrp 32. We all need a review and lots of pics of it anyways :)

Sent from my X10a

yeah i wanted to do a lrp either way lol.. i havent seen anything on the ,32 tho.. would like to see some reviews
