I'm getting a XXX-SCT, and I'm planning on racing it in the stock class, so I need to know what batteries and charger I should get too.

It will run on 2c LiPo, or I can use 6-cell. I'll probably only be able to get one or two to start with, so cost matters. I do already have a charger, a Vision Peak 2 which is only good for Ni-Cd and Ni-MH batteries.

I need to be able to get decent race times out of these batteries, and I have no idea where to go or what to get.

A few places some one else recomended hobbypartz.com and recomended gensacearespammers lipo's if you want to race I belive the rule is you must have a hard case so I found a few from 2cells to 3cell lipo's pretty cheap but very high qaulity I'm about to buy some my self.

You usualy want a high c rating for maximum discharge rate with a brushless set up so here are a few.

These batteries are "ROAR" aproved to.

And as far as time if you get a 4000mah to 5000mah I belive your looking from any where to 25min to 35min of fun time the higher MAH you have the longer run time you will get.

For a lipo chager I broke down and spent some money on a qaulity chager and I got a dynamite passport ultra I spend 135.00 on it and love! here is a link -

Their is cheaper out their but I'm just not sure as to what to recomend because i havnt used them.

Are you running brushless?

Running brushed for now, I need time to get used to the truck, and racing in general. I'm also starting out in the stock class, so I can't run BL yet. I might upgrade next year though.

You can still use lipo's with a brushed set up but I would recomend just going with a really nice nimh like any where from a 4000 to a 5000mah, and as many cells as posible. With nimh I would get a battery per race so if you have 2 heats and a main I would buy 3 or 4 batterys, may not need that many but i dont know how ur run time is since I havnt used nimh in years. I'm almost positive you can run a whole race on a battery. As far as your chager thats a good charger no need to upgrade intell you buy lipo.

Ok, thanks. I'd like to go 7-cell, but track rules for stock sct are 6-cell or 2c lipo.

I'm not a 100% sure but i feel a 2 cell lipo would fry a brushed motor but i could be wrong.

Been using alot of Gens from Hobbypartz without any problems at all plus free shipping from Cali.

Since you are willing to work with what youve already got I would get a couple of high output Nimh packs. I've always preferred Intellect cells myself.

Wow, pricey! Know where I can get them for a better price than what Tower has them for? Tower has 5000mAh 6-cell stick for $49.99. And actually, they are out of stock.
