Hi all. pretty new to the whole rc/nitro scene and I had a quick question. i have a savage x 4.6 and i wanted to add a hump pack (research told me so..haha). i know that it needs to be a 6v. but i have seen them range from 1600mah-5100mah does it matter? personally I love more power but i don't wanna ruin anything by getting something to "big". also I'm looking for a charger that will work decent without breaking the bank.. maybe the 40-50 dollar range?! I know very little about batteries and chargers but this is what I'm thinking.
DYN1442-250.webp

6V 5100mAh Ni-MH 5C Hump

DYN4049-250.webp

Prophet Plus LCD AC/DC Peak Charger

Anyone see a problem with these? Honestly I don't even know if there compatable. Please help.

Mah basically determines the length of time a battery will stay charged.(in short). SO a 5100mah batt. will last much longer without having to be charged than the 1600mah.(Really the only difference between the two) And the mah doesn't necessarily have to do with the amount of power you will get out of the battery. Not sure about that charger, but i use this one
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/..._6_50W_6A_Balancer_Charger_DE_Warehouse_.html NOT AC/DC though(need a power supply). It can charge all types of batts. Hope this helps! Anybody feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

If you have any more questions feel free to ask! And welcome to RCNT!!:D

You want as high a mAh as you can get, and still fit. The higher the mAh, the larger the pack will be, if it's too big, you may have to make a mount for it.

I found a 4200mah today but the thing was huge. Have to look at my truck again to see if it will fit. Does anyone know roughly what kinda run times I'm looking at, say, per 1000mah?
