Hey Guys! Hey i just got a great deal on craigslist. Tmaxx 4910 basket case said he took it apart and couldnt put back together. 40 bucks!! Anyway the engine was kind of tight when turning it over, no plug. so i shot a blast of wd40 in & it loosened up i guess he left the fuel in. should i tear it down & clean it or can i start it & let it clean out by itself? Thanx! CD

it would probably be best to take it apart. if the plug was gone, there is no telling what fell down the hole.

good score!

No the plug was in when i picked it up but because it was so tight at first i couldnt tell if it had compression. after it loosened up from wd40 i put the plug back in & could feel compression. so I'm pretty sure its clean. thanx!

Thanks for the advice took the carb off. fuel inlet was full of what looked like plastic shavings. pulled the head cleaned small amount of brown residue off top of head. Crank case clean. put back together installed in assymbled truck blew fuel into carb hit it with starter and started right up! Woo Hoo! got temps up to 175 ran about half a tank fuel only problem was a bad crack in tank. used one out of my other tmaxx. all it needs is a tank and a tq3 trans w/ green xtal. What a deal! thanx again for advice!!
