Nice pics,

Looks like you had a great time, and great pics. You can stop your truck from losing power and the front tire from ballooning. Traxxas makes a solid tranny shaft that eliminates reverse and puts your truck to full time four wheel drive. It will increase power and tourque.

I do appreciate the concern....but am happy with my set-up. I'm glad you liked the pics, too. Please take note of the following:

One...I'm not worried about the ballooning tire. It looks pretty cool once in a while (which is about as often as it occurs).

Two...locking the diffs by using the spools that are available are great for the pure off roader, but I occasionally drive my T on road to knock the dust off.

Three...I am happy with my designed weak link. I run all metal everything except the center drive shafts. They are cheap to replace and easier to worry about than say the tranny, diffs, spur, etc.

Four...I am in no way worried about torque or power. My Fantom provides plenty of both, and the gearing I have chosen only enhances an already strong engine.

Finally...locking the diffs or using a solid drive shaft does not, let me repeat this for the CAR GOD, does not increase power or torque. All it does is improve the transfer of what you already have from engine and gearing to the wheels.

Sky, could you do me a favor? Next time you go bashing, could you try and get all 4 tyres to balloon and get a pic of it:coffee or is that to do?

While being possible, it is highly unlikely to baloon all 4 tires at the same time. You have the weight of the t-maxx and the slippery surface under one of the tires so most of the power was going to that tire. Best I have seen is 2 ballooned tires at the same time.

The only way possible to get all four to balloon at the same time is to lay the truck on its lid and hit the gas or catch some big air with serious hang time and hit the gas. The best I've been able to do is get three of four ballooned. That was by loosening the glue on all tires and running in my back yard doing donuts.

I am open to new ideas, but don't think we will be able to make this one fly. We'll have to see what we can do. I'll have to cut the glue on my spare set of tires and give it a go.

Pirata, how are we looking for next weekend? Got those gears? Installed? Keep me posted.

Haven't bought them yet. I was overdrawn on my allotted spending money for the weekend. Hopefully I don't buy anything pointless this week so I will have money for this weekend.

werent you worried about the engine getting hot. it looks like it wouldnt have much to breath. You must have had them running rich.

Heck no, it was only like 60 outside. I have not changed the settings of my engine since summer and, when it's not broken, runs great.

Mine was breathing just fine. The problem came from the mud getting baked into a solid mass in the heatsink hole where the glow plug was. I had to keep it running and pray for no stalls. If it stalled, I had to dig out the hardened mud.

As for settings, I think mine is always running a little rich. Still gives great performance and puts on quite a show.

Pirata, don't break the bank dude. When its ready to run, we'll play. Just let me know when that occurs.

You just like watching me slave over my toy. Makes you feel better about things when yours breaks. I know how you work. :D

BTW, you were quick with response time. I added to my previous post. Any problems with the last couple of lines? Or should we be good to go this Sunday?

Gotcha...let me know. Again, we can make a run on Debbie's RC World if you like and can run on the road. I'll rig my T up for street running and you can run the RS-4 again. Let me know what you want to do.
