My .15 Rustler is very old and has now been through 2 engines (the 2nd died this weekend) and as My T-maxx is on the way i was considering getting a bigger engine this time toi make the rustler a bashing/speed truck. So my question is, what can i stick in there apart from a trx2.5(The bigger the better? Is all the easystart stuff compatible with other engines? Or am i facing pullstart? And lastly any links where to get the stinger exhaust/kit to a UK Address -Barnes

I put a Fantom .18 in my rustler and it is unbeliveable. I love it. Everything bolted right up. My rustler was a 2.5 so i dont know how it would go into the older one.

Get some carbon fiber and rpm racing parts.

Well the original rustler can be upgraded to a 2.5 so i can probably stick the Fantom in it The only thing is and exhaust as I'm fed up with the little rubber thing i want a stinger (Is it Fantom compatible) Or do i have to get a Fantom exhaust too? Links anyone?

heres mine

that's a SWEET rustler.

if you want the bigest engine check out the ofna .21 they designed specifically for the t-maxx. not sure if it will bolt right in but with a bit of modding it will. make sure you bulletproof your chassis, as well. .21's have tons of power.

I installed a Hot Bodies .18 in my Rustler. I had to do a little grinding in the chassis plate to make the pull starter clear, but there were no other mods needed. I looked at the possibility of adding the electric start, but didn't....If you do, you'll have to take a little off the bottom cooling fin to get the electric motor to clear.
By the way, I fitted the Traxxas dual needle carb to this engine, instead of the single that HotBodies uses. It really made the engine come to life...It takes a little modification, but it's worth it....It's a cheap route to take, if you're looking to just go bash.

Wow, Nathan, that thing's awesome. I hope you don't mind, but I think I'm going to copy yours. That looks cool, plus it looks like it could take a real beating without breaking a sweat.

does the roll cage protect the shock towers, bulkhead, and shocks? those 3 parts i'm constantly breaking/bending (always in the back). thanks

What are the differences between the 2.5 and 1.5 rustlers? Apart from the engine? (which you have to buy a conversion kit for , its just a different mount and exhaust)
