I needed some 7000 weight oil and only had 5,000 and 10,000 handy. Sooooo, I poured half 5k and half 10k into the diff cup and figured the two would mix together into approx 7,500 weight diff oil. The car is running fine.

I'm in the boonies and can't drive, so I filled my shocks up yesterday with mineral oil.:) It worked out pretty good. I have a back up set of shocks that are loaded with 50wt, and the mineral oil feels just a touch lighter. No leaks so far...

does it really make a difference if i use diff oil or black grease,i use grease cause my lhs doesn't have the diff oi land i havent gotten around to ordering it yet,but is it a must?

If you bash it isn't too critical to use diff oil, but if you race it very critical to you cars performance that you use diff oil.

I too found out that you can in fact use diff oil in your shocks as well...
