Bartender! A shot of Diff Oil!!!

I needed some 7000 weight oil and only had 5,000 and 10,000 handy. Sooooo, I poured half 5k and half 10k into the diff cup and figured the two would mix together into approx 7,500 weight diff oil. The car is running fine.

Yes! I assumed the real experienced guys like yourself might mix.
I did a search and couldn't find it mentioned so I posted to make sure it was okay to mix, and share the tip with the other rookies like myself.

I'm in the boonies and can't drive, so I filled my shocks up yesterday with mineral oil. It worked out pretty good. I have a back up set of shocks that are loaded with 50wt, and the mineral oil feels just a touch lighter. No leaks so far...

does it really make a difference if i use diff oil or black grease,i use grease cause my lhs doesn't have the diff oi land i havent gotten around to ordering it yet,but is it a must?

If you bash it isn't too critical to use diff oil, but if you race it very critical to you cars performance that you use diff oil.

I too found out that you can in fact use diff oil in your shocks as well...
