i have a xtm mammoth and no matter what tire i put on it still baloons. I am loosing speed and i do not know what to do. i need help.

go to the drug store pick up some SCOTCH tape its called strapping tape with cords in it its 2 inches wide you seperate your tire from the rim turn your tire inside out then put the tape around the inside of the tire (one time) turn your tire back around put foam back in and reglue.. its easier if you just do it on new tires when your putting them together JMO

Yes, duct tape will work the same. Works pretty slick. Also another option is 40 series tires. Mine dont balloon at all.

There is one main reason for ballooning and that is setup. Or at least thats what I'm told.

I use duct tape and it has never broken down on me.

Yeah, the tires will wear out before the duct tape breaks down. Also use only one wrap and minimize the overlap on the tape, regardless of which tape you use.

i used duct tape for a while and it works very great. I just recently took it off because I found that when the tires dont balloon, you dont have a lot ariel control as far as doing stuff like backflips. I can now pull off backflips easier.

My crt was ballooning tires and then I tried 50,000 weight silicone in the center diff. and it seems to have helped alot. you could use heavy oil in the front diff too. I'm not familiar with the mammoth though. does it have a tranny or a center diff?

The only problem with using heavier oil in the diffs as apposed to straping (Taping) the tires is that with diff oil you are limited to track surface/conditions. Strapping the tire is much more versital as far as allowing you to change oils without worrying about tires. Unless of course you like changing diff oil, or only run at one track with the exact same conditions. Changing the diff oil will help ballooning though.
