Does anybody have a trick to getting rod ends off without tearing up the ball cups? There are times when I need to replace a part and I end up having to replace the rod end too which is a real pain in the butt for what should have been a 5 minute fix. Thanks!

Tom

I've never ripped one with needle nose plyers, one tip on the ball one on the edge of the rod end and a little twist.

If the ball can be installed on the end using a hex driver, I drill a hole in the bottom of the ball cup large enough for the driver so I can simply unscrew the ball cup in place. I only did this on my touring cars an 18th scales though. Saves wearing out the ball cup which will get sloppy when they are removed and reinstalled too often.

Thanks guys. It is difficult for me to not deform the cup or break it completely. Guess I just need more practice.....or patience! Lol!
