anyone think this is possible? I'm still looking around for new tires for the XL and came across a picture of the Baja rear tires. Anyone have a size on these?

thanks

It is possible. The problem is that the Baja wheels are 24mm. People on other forums buy 23mm hubs (There are Dynamite hubs on eBay for like $9) and then they use tape of the edges to increase it to 24mm. Sounds good, but then the tape may release from the hub and cause a wiggle in the wheels.

man that sounds killer.. maybe someone with the talent *cough* racer *cough* could make some?

It is possible. Don't get the HPI Dirtbusters though. They are really sucky tires. If you DO go with Baja style wheels/tires, buy some Hostile Hobby tires. Those things last forever.

baja wheels conversion/w paddles

so we need to extend the axel as well as provided 24mm hubs?

I wish I had access to a lathe.

its a really good idea, i personaly want to try the new proline 5t package on my xl.

he measures the length of the hub, which is what I should have said. Is that because he's bringing them out to 4cm?

what about buying the Baja hubs, and making a collar to fit the XL?

I think would be the simplest method, little to no machining required. IF anyone with a Baja could step in and tell us what the ID of the hub is, we could figure this out pretty quick.
