i am going to get my first 1/5 scal gas RC, the Baja 5T.

Can I run in the snow,water,mud ?
Is it waterproof ?

because if I want to have fun almost all year long in Massachusetts I have to do this.

Finally, anything special to clean the truck ? (water all over is good ?)

25 days...

I'm not extremely familiar with the Baja but I do know you can waterproof your servo's, receiver, and battery in nitro's and run to your hearts content in snow/water without issues so long as it's done properly. The only thing you really have to concern yourself aside from that is the air filter getting saturated with water. I don't know what kind of filter those things run but you'll just need to watch out for that

the radio box is claimed water resistant. the steering and t/b servo are said to be water resistant but not water proof.

rtv the caps down on your radio box (the rx and battery cap, the opaque white ones on the radio box lid) then use a bit of rtv to seal the seems on the servos, and add an oring under your servo horns. you may need 2 oring per horn to seal it up.

make sure you keep the air filter system water free. once you douche the baja, water will plug up the air filter system and choke out the motor. running with a windshield and side windowns helps ALOT.

watch your t/b linkages and the carb linkages, snow likes to build up in these areas, melt and re freeze, locking your linkages in place. the carb linkage is suseptable to clogging wiht snow and locking up as well.

Just blow off as much snow as you can with an air compressor when you are done running it . The 5B and 5T are pretty water resistant but you don't want all that snow just sitting there and melting all over it .
Here's some pictures of my old 5B doing some donuts in snow and how packed with snow it got . It was fine afterwards .

That was your 5B Baja when it still ran, before it quit running and you had to sell it because you couldn't get it running again ! - :hehe::p:

Lucky you!! Looks like you had tons of fun in the snow!!!

Just carefully dry your baja after you're done win the snow! :)
