Never had a 5th scale before always 8th scale but found a baja 5b for 300 bucks rtr is it worth it?

What kinds of things should I check out on it before purchasing

1 more question guys how fast can I expect it to go stock will it outrun my axial 32 on my hellfire and does it flip easily like my savage?

Take the Baja and run! At that price as long as the engine runs, you're way ahead. The Baja 5b is a very sturdy machine. If the engine runs and the rear wheels move when it the engine is revved. then everything else is an easy fix.

Make sure it's not a the cheap knock off clone version of the Baja.

With a stock engine in good working order you could probably expect at least 35-40 mph. It may not out run your hellfire, but for that scale, it's plenty fast. The 5B doesn't fly nearly as well as some of the nitros because of weight distribution, but you can learn how to land these rigs fairly well with practice. The biggest no-no with these rigs, is to NOT land while on the throttle. This will quickly destroy the drivetrain.. Twisted dogbones, sheared pins and worn cups are the outcomes of this.
