It can still get plenty of air at the gaps around the windows, and the whole back of the cage is open too. Your flywheel is also finned and acts like a giant fan. It greatly cuts down on the amount of crap that gets thrown up on the filter, and inside the car. Protects your carb / intake from impacts too.

Yup keeps out garbage. I had to clean out the flywheel and chassis less often when i put in the windshield
