First my stock steering servo went. then someone gave me a futaba but it didn't have enough torque. then I bought a HItech HS-645mg ultra torque servo and a GS servo saver. the front turns kinda easy with my hand but when I connect the servo it wont turn for poop. can the servo savers go that quik? I mean I dumped a butt load of money today between the servo, the servo saver, I got a battery (nicad) pack and charger because I'm sick of going through batteries every third tank of fuel. Should I replace the steering arms with better ones or should I look into something else that is causing the steering problem? HELP!!!!

Do you have a servo guard? If you install your servo backwards with a servo guard installed as well, the servo saver will hit the guard and not turn. (yes I've done it).
Tell ya what, do this: take off your servo saver and then see if your servo works at all. If it works, then you've got your problem narrowed down to everything after the servo. Check for binding...you never know maybe something is lodged in there somewhere. If no binding, try putting a servo horn on istead of the servo saver. If that works, then you've got it down to the servo saver.

If you got the $, I would dump the servo saver all together and get the ProLine steering kit. It has a built-in servo saver just like the 1/8 buggys.

Tower has it for around $40, but you can find it for much less if you shop around on-line. I got mine for around $25 on ebay. Now my Maxx turns on a dime combined with the Airtronics 94358Z servo I put on.

thanks guys. I got it to turn better. I was supprised that just a little resistance in the front steering would screw me up. I losened the bolts on a few things and it turns fine now. I will be getting the proline setup though it looks like it would help alot. thanks again.

Steering blues

I had similar issues from overtightening.
Just remember not to overtighten the pro-line setup too.
Other than that, the HS645/625MG servo's are brilliant.
