Hi guys a couple of newbee questions. 1. Do these things reverse?
2. Can I make it a bit quieter? Really enjoying tinkering and breaking it in and
It great to have heaps of info available. Thxs for help

What RC do you speak of? Backwash? If not, we need a make, model nito/electric, a little more info would be grand.

what rig are you running??? and reverse in nitro alot of times is just more of a pain than it is worth I have kept reverse on my classic t-maxx and that will be comin out here soon.. cause i have already disconeected the servo and locked it in forward only... I even installed reverse into another rig and took it out after a couple of days using it..

Reverse is SOOO not worth the serious PITA that it brings with it. Yes you can make your rig a little quieter, but may see a performance drop. Some pipes offer a silencing cone, but when I need quiet I dig out a plastic pipe off of a friends rustler.

Quieter???? You know your runnin a nitro engine right??? Half my enjoyment is ripping around the edge of 1 side of our house just so the noise pisses off a certain unlikable neighbor!!! Just bustin your chops!! Restricting your exhaust for a quieter noise usually makes performance suffer tremendously!!! The quietness for me is not worth the power loss. I prefer the FOC kit in all my vehicles whenever possible as it not only eliminates a useless reverse but also trims off a tremendous amount of weight by removing all of the moving mass in the tranny but you also create space in your chassis by removing the servo as well

Ok so no reverse and I will just have to find. Somewhere better to run it! Thxs for help . Also thxs to whoevere put up the tips and flow chart that's made it so much easier! What's the fastest speed you guys have seen?

Phins Fan is right, I'm still tossing between battery or nitro myself but pretty sure I'm gonna go nitro. but it feels weird driving something so fast with almost no noise. i live in a gated community in a coldersack (sorry dont no how to spell it) and its always super quiet (our neighbours already hate us for having motorbikes). so it should be fun to piss em off!!!!

i used to worry about the noise, but i hear weed eaters at 8:30 am, lawn mowers at dusk, impact wrenches from the guy across the street. i figure my nitro truck is the most quite thing on the entire block !LOL!!!

Mine is the total opposite we make all the noise, and the house a cupla doors down makes the occassional bang when fixing his like 20 year old piece of crap car. I have now set my intentions to buying this: http://www.rc-tradingpost.com/tunerdrift-rrgpdrift.html

Redcat isn't really known for high quality vehicles or for having much after-market support. I would advise against that brand.

i have done the same with an hsp. got it for nothing because it was a non runner but parts are easy to get, but they need to be ordered because my lhs doesn't not stock them, i have got the engine running again and it is a great sense of achievement :) i have always been into models but nitro has opened many new doors and it is great

So I found a nice place where I don't have to be quiet and started the break in and it was fun. I'm still tweekin it but got it going and it idles nicely (I think) . I could have spent hours on it . I was just sittin there workin away and the little screw that holds the servo arm on came loose and the arm popped off and it revved its head off till istopped it . The one screw I didn't check can u believe it and its all good and I need another screw from somewhere .

Hahahaha, mine hpi MT2 did the same thing but it was missing the washer on the screw so the whole servo horn came off and got stuck wide open. The tire gave me a nice rubber burn on my wrist.

I need to get another screw what r they called so I can look it up. Servo screw? does it come in a pack or something ? Also are aluminium wheels any good? Thxs for help

rclearner, I got and exceed forza .18 for my first car. Though not the best reputation I figured for my introduction to the hobby not a bad deal for $150. to learn on and have a bit of fun! I'm not ashamed at all! Once I'm sure this is what I'm looking for I will spend a bit more cash on something nicer (I'm sure it wont be long). They aren't quiet though, but def not obnoxious! I;m sure most neighbors will deal with that!

Cheers farm boy, will have a look at it in a minute. Anything decent just to get me started. My mate is tryin to get me into electric cause i just found out that he has one and a huge track in the spare room of his house and the room is huge. He showed me pics and there is barely any room for walking, just a few stepping holes to around the track if your car breaks down.
