is showing melting. what does this mean? I'm running a 52t spur on a 16t bell. it has some serious torque on the take off as well. I'm using a 52t cause it's all the lhs has.
If it's the teeth that show signs of melting, then it's your CB that's WAY too hot. Either the clutches are slipping due to an early or improper shift, or the CB and shoes are glazed and need to be scuffed up.
No it's melting under the slipper pads, and around the center hole, not on the teeth. When I tried a 52/15 set up on my SS, I had the exact same problem, couldn't figure it out. I went back to 49/15 and no problems at all.
Okay, back side. Sorry, I missed that. Obviously that gear ratio is causing to much slip on the slipper.
Since NCNitro already had the same problem, take his advise.
i have the slipper set a half turn out. runs sweet with the 52t on the 16t bell though. there is only 52t available right now, so i geuss i bash it out till it melts.
l melted the teeth again. got to do something about this. truck sits still at idle. i think i just bash to hard. I'm usually wot except making a complete U turn, or straightening up for a jump.
tranny is still set at default shift.
I'm gonna drimel sand any glaze i see on on the slipper pad, inside bell, and c.shoes.
