So should I tune it at half tank or full?Full since it will get more hot if I tune when it is at half?

If you tune the engine when the tank is half full, the end result will be that the engine runs a little rich with a full tank, just right when the tanks is half full and it will be a little lean as the tank empties. This means that performance will actually increase as the tank empties, and you will run a little cooler for the duration of the tank as it will be at a rich setting from full tank to about the halfway mark. Rich setting means cooler running.

wierd but if that is true then I will keep that in mind to be careful running it at full speed after it passes half a tank!!!

Full speed will not hurt anything with general driving. Keep in mind that generally a person isn't at full throttle for very long before they are backing off to turn or something. Making real long parking lot runs of nothing but a u-turn and full throttle, over and over, will heat up any engine no matter how rich it is set. Most running is actually a lot of on and off the throttle thus varying RPM and different temperatures. Also, how you run just before yo take a temperature reading and where you take it from makes a big difference too.

Thanks larryA I will make sure to watch out for those times when I am feeling like drag race !!!
