whats the average speend of a nitro stadium truck. by this i mean going a wot on a straight away. I'm not talking about in your car. i mean on street running on its own power.

I'd say the average speed is more in the 20-25 MPH range, but there are so many variables I'd think it'd be hard to truly pin down an accurate average. It depends on weight, gearing, size, how well tuned the engine is, road surface, tire type, tire size, ambient conditions, percentage of nitro in fuel and the like.

I'd guess I topped my MT with an OS .15 and 2-speed tranny at about 35 MPH, but I can't verify that. Just based on me experience.

thanks guys. monkey those were the numbers i thought. on a site that had a rc speed checker it said my nmt could go at 22 mph. that sucks!! my 18b is coming close to 35 mph. i think my next rc is going to be a 1/8 buggy.

Yes, but that's not an apples-apples comparison. You have a Mamba 6800 in your 18b, right? The power-to-weight ratio is so wide in your 18b compared to your MT that to compare the two isn't accurate. Your MT has the HB .18 still, but drop a V-Spec or Nova mill in there, re-gear it and I guarantee you'll get it to the 35 MPH range.

I'll bet that my Revo with an OS .18TM is faster overall than my Savage with a .25 in it simply based on the weight differences between the two. Not to mention it's geared differently and the like.

I admit, having a speedy rig is fun, but at some point they get so fast they are no fun because they are so damn hard to control. My RC10GT had an OS .18 CV-R in it and I eventually pulled it and dropped a .12 in there, simply because it had so much power the front end rarely stayed on the ground (that, and it wasn't race-legal either).

oh i didnt even think of a nova. i was thinking of going with a new era .21 conversion and putting a .21 O.S buggy sport( i think thats what its called) or a ofna .21. but of course with this set up i will upgrade my trans (slipped and universal joints all around)

When its rockin' n rollin my XXX-NT will do 40+ enough to chase (and catch)cars down the street but bit takes a good 200-250 feet to to it and I can only run so far untill its time to turn around still a lot of fun

what the hell how did we go from stadium trucks to monster trucks? if you want your question answered you should put this up in the trucks you asked part of the forum.

wha wha wha I'm not bitching. i maybe figured this was the stadium truck section. you didnt bother no one. just wantd to point out you in the wrong part and you will most likely get your answer if you made your own tread so more people can see it. thats all.
