I want to replace my stock pipe with an RB 9886. How do i attach it to my savage? The stock setup isnt working for me. Do i need to bend some heavy duty wire and screw the allen to it?

Yep, just bend some piano wire and screw it on. I've had to make a new hanger for every one of my aftermarket pipes.

You can simply use a Pipe Hanger wire and bend it to give you the perfect fit. I had to do that with my pipe, actually all my pipes.

I would recommend keeping the plastic pipe hanger on too. This will help absorb some of the impact and bumps that the pipe might encounter.

That pipe is basically the same design as the OFNA pipe I use, so your mounting should be very similar. The nipple will be on the inside towards the chassis and the stinger will be pointing straight down.

Here is a pic to kind of give you a sample of the mounting:

Here is the pipe hanger I use:

DL that is a clean looking savage! Is that one I sold you? Damn nice!

Thank u all for the suggestions.. those were some good links that gave me some ideas.!!!.. I dont have any piano wire but I believe i can get a piece of pipe hanger to work.

I picked the RB up for $12 including shipping...not bad i guess..there were a few small dents in it. I filled it up with water and wrapped duct tape around the 2 openings. After freezing it for half a day, the dents are hardly noticeable.

IT WORKED!...first time i have ever tried the freezer trick.

DL..thanks for the pics..thats one bad ass ride...those rims are blinging!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, that is the one I got from you, (after a few mods). She is totally different now. My goal then was to lighten her up while strengthening her at the same time. I was pretty successful and shaved off a little more that 1lb. I could have shaved off some more, but I wasn't trying to take any parts off, (like some people do, such as bumpers, etc). That 1lb of weight reduction came from simply switching out stock parts with lighter aftermarket parts.

She is totally different now. I am currently increasing her size from a 1/8 scale to a 1/7 scale. LOL.
