so my motor whines louder than any I've had, I've only had factory and what.... 3 others? so I'm not the most experienced with any of this. what I'm wondering is does this sound normal? i adjusted the mesh so it reverses now, but its got me worrying that its still not right.
motor xerun axe 540 with the xerun brushless esc. in a wraith i swapped to a 16t pinion, i have a few others, should i change the pinion gear?

Our optic we just built with the same system sounds like that. It’s loud as hell

I was thinking it was from the transmission though, but maybe it’s not 🤔. Did you run this before with a different motor setup?

yeah with a brushed 20t motor, i honestly can't remember if it was loud or not as i didnt pay any attention since it was the first upgrade so i didnt really care about it lol. i kinda thought it sounded transmissiony too, i bhave a different trans i may try to hook up, but if yours is loud as well I'm just gonna let it be for meow

This was the original motor
Don't guess it was factory like I thought but it was still brushed ugh lol

Brushless motors give off a harmonic tone, that travels through the drivetrain, amplifying it. Often, the beeps you hear from what you think is your ESC is actually the ESC sending a signal to the motor to give off the beeping sound. My 3d printer plays the Imperial March from Star Wars at the end of a print, all done with the stepper motors.

How does everything feel without the motor in it? Nice and smooth rotation? No binding?
yeah it rolled a little too smoothly if anything, tried to run off the table while i was working on it had to keep catching it, i had it rigged up supoer weird at that time, had just front shocks removed so the shell laid open to the back so i could gett to the motor, but the body kept tryring to clam shut on me so i had to tie a weight to the front bumper, to counter and hold the cage up. it kept trying to roll off table

Sounds like a bad time with Pac Man! 🤣

If you're rolling easy and smooth, your mesh all look ok during assembly or inspect etc, no grit in diffs or oil... you should be ok i think... 🤔
