As far as entry level RC's go, you can't go wrong with an off road buggy IMO. Be it nitro or electric, the design is simple, they're durable, easy to work on, versatile,
they handle well, great for off road racing, bashing or street use.

If you're going to choose a Thunder Tiger buggy, for a few extra dollars I recommend passing on the Tomahawk and going with the EB-4 S2.5 instead.

The S2 is 1/8 scale as opposed to the Tomahawk 1/10 scale so it's slightly bigger, the suspension components are much beefier.
The S2 will accommodate just about any .21 or larger engine, should you decide to upgrade. With the Tomahawk (which comes with a .18) you're limited on engine size due to space constraints.
Last but not least, there's a great assortment of replacement parts and upgrade parts available for the S2/ S2.5, not as much for the Tomahawk BX. Hope this helps.

Also I think a 75cc fuel tank for an .18 engine is kinda on the small size. That's going to lower your run time and you'll be filling up more often. As stated above you'll have more motor options with the S2 which can make it a new rc so to speak when you put in a bigger engine.

i shoehorned a xtm 24.7 engine in my tomahawk ST and i never had any issues

the only issue with the thunder tiger tomahawk series is the front end is a weak point in a impact the plastic holding the front to the chassis is liable to snap if its hit hard enough,

altho my tomahawk st did stand up to a ton of abuse,

you can't really go wrong with thunder tiger they make good engines and there models are of good quality

i have owned a thunder tiger EB4 and the thunder tiger tomahawk ST ( stadium truck ) and they both ran very well, parts are easily available for the EB4 were as the tomahawk series is difficult to find parts

and FYI there are 3 variants of the tomahawk, one is a onroad car one is a truggy/stadium truck and one is a buggy each one is based off virtually the same chassis
