Personal opinion, no. I am no expert.

If you cut away some plastic from your lid, or make a decent lexan air scoop, there is your cold air.

The filters themselves look like K&N style breathers for valve covers. I don't think they filter small enough particles to do your motor any good.

Just my :2cents:

Hmm I wouldn't want my airfilter out that close to the front end. A good frontend crash is going to bent the crap out of the pipe and possiblly damage your carb. IMO

Please read the auction closely, he does not include the filter with this kit. For that price you could stop at your local hardware store and make something much better.

Here's my personal preference in an air filter and an easy to make cold air intake.

Nope I really didn't notice a difference because I had modified so much at that point in time there was nothing to base an increase in performance off of. I realized after I posted that this was a Savage we were talking about not a T-Maxx. I made a similar one for my Savage however this went on the night I bought it and I never tried it without one. I'd take a pic but I sold that savage last month.

I am still trying to figure out why it is being called a cold air intake. Seeing the filter is located in front of the cooling head it is cool no matter what. The only real benifit is if you can bring the air filter from being inline with the cooling head then it would allow for more cool air to travel over the cooling fins. Which we all know will help keep engine temperatures down.

Yes but inches away from the head is still cooler than right next to the heat. It does also allow more air to help cool the engine as the filter is no longer blocking the fresh air.

Why not take a look at the motor saver filter for the savage. It's huge, sits between the roll bar and the tranny and lets my s25 rip.
