Just wondering if anyone has tried a 6.6 volt LiFe battery yet and what they think of it.

I'm thinking that the extra .6 volts wouldn't harm servos and that the pack would last a while... Only down fall I can think of is that LiPo and LiFe don't like to be over charged or discharged, so maybe running a Novak Smart Stop would be a good idea?

I run a LIFE in my 3PK now. I've charged it once and have Been to the track twice so far with it. Life is great because it doesn't self discharge so you don't have to worry about picking up your transmitter after not using it for a while and it being dead.

Yeah, I know that LiPo's and LiFe's are awesome in Tx's, but I'm wondering more about how well they work as a Rx pack.

I'm running two Futaba S3305's in my truck and I just don't know how the LiFe will hold up.

Oh, my bad man. I misread it.

IMO, I doubt a Lipo has much advantage over a LIFE as a Rx pack. I mean, yes some servos depending on the situation will draw a lot of current (and you're running digi's), but the LIFE should deliver plenty. Like you mentioned, it would be a good idea to run some sort of voltae regulator so you don't burn up your servo's. Remember the servo is essentially a little motor and it will take as much as you give it.. give it too much and poof is certainly a feasible outcome.
