Well My brother just recently got me into this hobby.

So far i have a Traxxas Revo 3.3, Nitro Rustler, and an Arrma Kraton.

So I am looking to expand my collection and go ahead and get a Buggy. I am looking for an electric 1/8 scale buggy. Since i already have 2 nitros.

Any recommendations out there on which ones to look at?

So far i have been eyeing the Arrma Typhon and the custom buggys from Empire RC.

I'd suggest staying away from those. I've never even hear those names. I don't think anyone on this forum would recommend either one of them.

I never heard of Empire either. You should really give them a look. It is a single guy out of his home probably building each model to order.

They are all race ready made with carbon fiber. His cars seem legit. just not a huge manufacture.

looks like the absolute best for the money. But i Hear what you are saying and exactly why i havent bought one yet.

For $450 I will stick with a brand I know I can trust. I'm not saying he doesn't have a good product because I don't know but for the same price I can buy Ofna, Team associated etc. I would be more inclined to give his product a try for $200 or less but not $450. Just my opinion.

I didn't look at the site before I posted above. I thought they were just more Chinese crap. I'm sure they might be good, but I agree on going brand name and doing your own upgrades.

I am almost limiting my purchase from tower, Only because I have a 75$ coupon and about 50$ in Ecash + free shipping =p

Tower handles quality stuff. I order parts from them all the time. If I was going to use Tower I would more than likely go with the Team associated Rc10 Kit.

I don't see a problem with it, but i would buy the Team Associated RC10 like BamaFan. It's a lot more dependable buggy and versatile with many after market options and upgrades. IMO

Why not the RC8?

I have owned a few duratrax vehicles and they are decent. Had the Raze nitro buggy. That was about 5 years ago. Seemed to hold up well. I think I personally would stick with a better known brand just for better support/upgrades. Ofna, Hpi, etc... I recently purchased the Hyper SS and am extremely happy with it. Got it for under 350 from Tower with a coupon. Hard to beat that price.
