i saw that jetmech has had some problems with his and i was just curious if anybody else had the same problem. i don't currently have any spares for these so i'm trying to get a feel for how soon i should get some backups if they're prone to breaking.

i broke a set on day two of running..

I also broke a set of the uprated ones, in the same place incidentally..

They all seem to have a weakpoint just at the start of the thread.. that's where my two breakages so far have occured..

Cheers

Bristar

Have you tried Aero Sticks? I have my Revo build set up with them to see how they are...

here's another question. when they broke, what was going on at the time? were you jumping, driving around, or was it some sort of impact to the rods?

I got tagged, and not hard or at least it didn't appear hard. But like Bristar mine was right at the base of the threaded part. I will say this, losing the front was still able to run, not well but still finished second in my heat. If you lose a rear, STOP!!!! I continued to run until the truck wouldn't run anymore and then wound up replacing more than the rod, it was half the trans case and then had to get another FOC cause I tore up the tranny gears too and the shaft. Live and learn I guess.

Yeah, I broke one, but it's because sweetdiesel was jamming it up his butt!

Actually, I haven't yet, but I just switched from the ones for P3 rockers to ones for P2 rockers, so we'll see.

hey jet, how did the broken pushrod cause all that other damage? i'm having trouble picturing what happened.

rc10, I went to the AeroSticks website and it looks like they only sell you the rods, you have thread on some sort of an end. Can you clarify what they mean? Any pics or part numbers, anything?

The rod that broke was just flaying in the wind and that side of the truck was sagging. I kept running like I was planted on all fours. Well cause of the serious lean it caused the drive shaft to sit at an unusual angle and then began to turn like it was out of balance (I'm assuming). The rear tranny half output shaft hole became wollered out and the plastic ground a really nice groove into the output shaft. Because the output shaft no longer spun true the internal gears didn't mesh right and burned up just like flubbing gear mesh on the CB and SG. I didn't think nothing of it when it happened on the front but I was wrong to keep running when the rear broke.

i have had the P2 rods (the red aluminum ones, I'm assuming is what you're talking about) for like... 8 months. i bash, and i bash hard. lots of other things have broken, but i havnt lost a pushrod yet. good product, i recommend it.

good god that made me sick to my stomach. that's horrible. i'm gonna remember that for sure.

That's all it takes, TS? I guess you never took A&P in college!

nope. i had to work for "the man" (a.k.a. Dad) right outta high school. i do, however, dribble...uh....i mean dabble in female A&P whenever possible. i just have a soft spot for horribly disfigured revos i guess.

Can't remember if I kept the shaft or not. I'll have to look. Been in my dungeon all night jackin' around with the new ride.

That's what living in Southern Illinois and Georgia for a few years will do to ya! :ponder2: Let's see:
wollered-(wahl-erd) (adj) - to not be in it's original shape
flubbing - (fluh-beeng) (v)(adv) -To screw up adjusting someone that requires great precision
How'd I do?:thankyou:

Ah, I see. I thought it was Southern, but seeing as I was raised in Southern Alabama (Heart of Dixie) I didn't quite pick up on the nomenclature.

Now, if you were to say something like, "I cut the light off", I'd of known for sure!
