I'm about 10 mins up 59....there is a small one about 5 mins from where I'm staying that i practice at. There are 2 larger ones about an hour north and south of me. I havent been to them yet but I've heard they are nice. I'm just here from the hurricane so i havent had the time to check them out yet.
yea about 10mins up from the intersection of 59 and 65....the track is in trussville,al, called mad maxx. Theres supposed to be a nice track in jasper which is a lil closer to you. I wouldnt mind going up there one day to run.
Please forgive my ignorance, As I am still new to all of this, the forum, and rc's as of early Jan,
But I see that you are RcTire, a shop owner/supplier out of New Orleans.
Bro, I'm very sympathetic concerning your loss, words can't describe, and I can't imagine what you've had to deal with, as I was a business owner for about 10 years and that was enough headache in itself, but to deal with total devastation,,I can't imagine.
And I see you are back into distributing.
I'll tell you what, anything that I need at all that you can get for me, I will purchase from you, without any price shopping at all.
Hope to meet you soon in fact, maybe the weather and time will coincide such that you and I can meet at one of the tracks you mentioned.
well not totally back into distributing yet, still dont have a new shop yet or anywhere near the inventory i had but pm me and if you dont mind waiting for me to order it, i will hook u up with a hell of a deal on whatever i can get for you. Did you find out anything on the schedule of the tracks?
Thanks RCTire, I'd wouldn't mind at all waiting on an order.
And , fisherman, I'll check the map out for Opelika,
Here is the email I received from Joe at the Jasper track:
This is Joe Horton owner of Shelby County RC Raceway. We will start racing here again as soon as the weather breaks and it starts warming up a little. We run all nitro here and the classes we run are 1/8 buggy pro and sportsman, Unlimited M/T pro and sportsman, Production M/T pro and sportsman, and 1/10 stadium trucks pro and sportsman.
We normally have around 30 - 40 entries per weekend and the largest classes being buggy and unlimited monster truck. As far as rules go we don't have alot. The number one rule is no profanity or alcohol and you must have fun ! We do run a very tight ship here and the races are ran on a professional level. The classes do not have strict guide lines as far as engine size or tires. Please give me a call and I can answer all of your questions and thank you for inquiring about our track.
just thought id let some of you guys know, I'm in tuscaloosa, and there is a track here downtown, maybe one day well all get together and see what were made of.
