I know that it is importent not to shorten the wire its self but does it matter how long the tube is I was going to shorten it to about 4 in. will it hurt anyhting.

The only thing it will hurt is that more of the wire will be exposed given it more of A chance to cut off even more wire in a roll over....

I pull the wire back into the rx box...then i take small sections of fuel line and pull it over the tube and a little piece of antenna wire (maybe 2-3 inches) and cap the top....since all my RX box covers come completely off I loc-tite the base of the tube to them as well......keeps wire from getting shredded......and I don't lose my tubes anymore

speaking of this... i lost about 10 inches of my antenna in a roll over... never thought it would happen to me... /sniff. anyway, can i replace the antenna? or should i just secure the rest to keep it safe? stupid cap didnt stay either....

If u lose any of the antenna wire u should replace it cause if u dont it could severly shorten the distence u can go .

All u have to do to replace it is open the reciver and find were it connects to the riciver chip and solder a new one on that is the origanal length.it will cost u 2-3$ to raplace the wire.
