i want to protect my antenna ,is it ok to wrap the whole thing with electrical tape ? and if so will i lose any range or other problems?

There is a super-duper new invention on the market called an antenna tube. You may want to contact your LHS and ask if they have heard of it. I got my hands on one the other day and highly recommend getting one.

YUP they have had amazing new advances in the antenna tube technology market. I got one of the first ones out of the new assembly plant the other day. They aren't sure if it is going to work though. I'll do a review on it when I am for sure that this is the one I am going to need. HEHE yeah you would want an antenna tube man.

ya think??? no poop i have a tube I'm talkin about the extra that doesn't fit in the tube. I have it rapped around it now but when i roll its tearing it up , so back to my original question

Wheelin sorry for the smart aleced post just havin a little fun. Umm you can do one of two things. Putting electrical tape on it isn't necessairly a good idea id you are like me and take your car apart frequently. Your best bet it to tuck most of it insode the receiver box. That is what most guys do. I just let the excess hang out it doesn't hurt anything to hang out at all.

Thanks for the info nitrofan! i just replaced my receiver and wanted to find a way to protect it better cause thats how i toasted the other one . thanks again

I have the extra wire tucked in my rx box, and about 1.5 inch that hangs out of the tube and a 1 inch piece of old fuel line that goes right over the tip of the antena tube and exposed wire.

i have some of mine in the box, but i have an equal length running on the outside. i use small pieces of fuel tubing to keep it in place. they are spread about 3 inches apart.
