While stationed in iraq i decided to get a T Maxx. Break in was a dream. No problems at all.:D I've been trying to get it tuned for a few days now. It starts with ease. As i lean the high speed i dont see any noticably increase in preformance. But after about 20 mins of running and leaning i noticed the blue smoke was gone. And my temp was 360. So i cut her off and let her cool as well as richen her up about 1/8 turn. I then ran it with the body off and she ran around 210. But with the body on its running alot higher. I dont understand how this is so seeing how I've cut holes in the pass side of the front window to increase air flow. Any who i started messing with the low speed and when i pinched it it took about 3 seconds to die but didnt sound like it ideled up any. So i leaned it out and it got better finaly i got it to where it was preforming better. Doing wheelies on comand like I've heard and running quick. But when i do the pinch test it only takes about 2 seconds to die with no increase in idle. So i put the body back on and started running around. After about 6 or 7 high speed rins i checked my temp and it was 320. So i killed it and let it cool. I'm starting to get frustrated!

Your lsn is lean. nothing you can do to the hsn will fix that. richen it up 1/8 of an turn and try from there

If I understand , part of the problem is the engine getting hot when you put the body back on? I lived in Arizona and ran my truck in 110 degree plus weather. I had to put a good sized hole in the windshield and trimmed the body up in front and cut out the "tailgate" to get some good airflow going across the head. this got my temp down to normal. I hope this helps.:)

After I cut MANY holes in my body(to the point it looked like swiss cheeze), the temp would not come down with the body on(gravedigger body). Turns out it was an air leak where the thing that holds the carb in. I have no idea why it would run okay(250-265) whith the body off. I guess it was just that little bit of extra airflow. Anyway that was just my experience.

Sense then i have ran it about 5 times every time starting from factory settings. After running it for a while it gets to that 300 mark again without touching the carb from factory. I've tried cutting the front bumper off. I've raised the body and lowered the body. I've raised the front and lowered the back. I think I've tried just about everything i can to get better air flow on the cooling head. What good is a 700$ toy if i can't run it due to the temp being so high. And it hasn't even hit 105 here yet. In about a month it will constantly be 140 or better.
