hi guys...):sign_topicsucks: i know you must be sick of these posts but my revo 3.3 (5308 wont start and it is really upsetting me... well my revo was having electrical problems and never ran for about a month... anyways heres what i know... i have taken the piston out, checked for wear( this was minimal), and un-gunked the engine... after i reassembled the engine i fueled up and got it primed... i tried starting it but the engine just wouldn't catch... i replaced the glowplug... still nothing... (if you are still reading you deserve an award:first_place:) anyways i went through a couple of batteries trying to start it and the most i got was an eighth of a second of idle... i noticed some fuel spraying off of the flywheel... i looked and there was a fuel leak where the line met the carb... i cut that porting of the line off but still fuel leaks from the carb... I'm so F***ing confused i'm ready to sell my precious revo!!! please someone help me... :sign_topicsucks:

also could be prob w/ the O-rings in the carb.. makes a nasty air leak and fuel leak (if you can get it to prime) and you will chase the tune forever.. i too wanted to just pitch it in the trash.. but had a guy that races them look at mine and in five min, found the issue... me happy now...

I'm pretty sure thats what it is... found a stripped out scew on the side of the carb near the HSN... i was wondering if anybody makes an aluminum carb that fits the 3.3... and if so how much are these puppies worth! thnx again guys... you're like the brothers i never had!;)

According to Traxxas, the carb that's there is better than an aluminum one.

"The TRX 3.3 is equipped with same high-performance slide carburetor that has reliably powered a generation of TRX Racing Engines. The slide type carburetor provides less restrictive, straight through airflow for more power and improved throttle response. Because it is molded, Traxxas engineers incorporated superior internal design enhancements and precision not possible with traditional machined carburetor. The composite material does not transfer heat like aluminum for more consistent tuning."

Idk if this proves that it's better, but I seem to like the description

You could get an O.S. 11k carb for about 70-80 bucks :hehe:. The TRX composite carb is cheaper to produce...period.

update: i just bought the traxxas carb... and i finally got it running today after tuneing to factory break in settings
(i just increased the idle slightly) it'll run for a couple of minutes... but when it dies it wont start till i crank on it for a few... also the carb is binding open when its not running... wtf lol i think i got a bad truck... nothing but problems
