i just registered here, and i probably wont be doing a ton of posting. anyway, I've wanted to get into nitro rc for about 2 years but never bought a vehicle up until about a month ago. I'm hooked. i bought a traxxas nitro rustler 2.5. i put about 300$ into it so far, and am far from done tricking it out.

heres a few pics i took today...i just painted my new body last night...

Nice rustler, how do they run\handle, I was thinking about getting one, I'm debating on a touring car or ST, might get a NTC3 for a touring car, but like the looks of the rustler, dont know yet.

thats a fine body but personal i like mine witha tan and nice legs jk jk

Looks good. How 's the handling. What hop-ups have u done?

handling is rough. lots of power takes alot of the weight off the front wheels during accelleration and at top speeds it slides alot.

hop-ups-

TRAXAXAS Big Bore ALuminum Shocks w/springs front and rear
RD Aluminum front bumper
RD Aluminum tie bar
RD Aluminum front A-arms
RD Aluminum rear shock tower
ProLine Gladiator 2 at all 4 corners
Rear Heavy Duty Aluminum Bulkhead from NEW ERA MODELS
Titanium Shock Shafts on the rear shocks
TRINITY Touring Torque Tuned Pipe
Dubro fuel filter

I'm ordering a new head next week i think. and some other stuff, I'm still undecided.

this is the head I'm gonna try

How do you like the overall quality of the rustler? Is it a good investment to make for dirt track racing, and can it take abuse?

yeah so far its been holding up ok. i broke some stuff, but i was bashing it pretty hard. this is my 1st RC car so i have nothing to compare it to. but for 300$, I'm impressed. i found it pretty easy to tune too. it jumps well too imo.

How do you like the overall quality of the rustler?

well out of the box, i was a little disappointed with its quality. 1 of the shocks wasn't installed correctly, i had to fix it. alot of the screws under the chassis were loose. 1 of my tires was ripped (i emailed TRAXXAS w/ my complaint and in return i recieved 2 replacement tires). but still, i think it was 300$ well spent.
