well i know that there was just a thread talking about this but i think that this is a special case. my friend and i went out to drive our maxx's last night and he was getting some pretty high temps 425 degrees F (highest) to be exact. yeah, i didnt think that they could get that hot, but according to his brand new venom temp gauge thats what it read. first of all, his 2.5 engine is brand new, just got finished breaking it in flawlessly with normal temps. during the second tank after break in (7 tanks all together) and not adjusting his needles (still at factory settings) and with plenty of blue smoke at WOT, then BAM!!! 425 degrees!!! the head was smoking and we were freaking out! after we calmed down a bit, inspected the engine, and let it cool down to about 130 degrees we fired it up (started right off the bat). it seemed to be running a little sluggish but not too bad and still plenty blue smoke. i figured we toasted the engine but after a little tweaking on the needles we got it running pretty good, but it still was running pretty hot (highest now was 310) and still plenty of blue smoke. have you guys ever seem temps that and if you have what was the verdict.
oh yeah, and after all that, he then proceeded to carnage both front bulkheads, front skid plate, and a srup gear. then we finally decided to call it quits at 7:00 am.
