Coming from tuning a turbo car I understand cold temps will lean out an engine but from reading several posts regarding cold weather tuning I have some unanswered questions. I heard due to the dense air mix by running richer it could actually create higher engine temps? I was recently trying to tune my 3.3, about 45 degrees, and with the high speed needle about 4.5 turns out and solid smoke off a start then diminishing a lot as I gained speed I found my engine temps as high as 260. The truck would occasionally cut out or shut off per say then come back on too. Is this because its too lean? Engine rpms would hang after I lift on the throttle even at low rpms just before idle it would hang then finally come down. Any help is appreciated, Thanks in advance! (Sorry I'm a noob)
