Is it just me or is anyone else going through alot of antenna's?? lol

I know i shouldnt be rolling my truck but it happens, in the last 6 tanks i broke 3 antennas !! this is starting to get frustrating.

Anyone use that metal antenna upgrade??
or is there a certain antenna thats more durable??

I've tryed taping it even but then in the end it still breaks, i think it may be because its cold here.

Any suggestions on a upgrade or how to fix this problem??

Much appreciated
Thanks :fro:

Expensive way to save an antenna tho lol

Mine broke awhile back. There's a simple low cost fix that works great. Mine snapped right where comes out of the body. I used a piece of fuel tubing about 1" long. It's working Great!

I don't have my antenna coming straight up. I have mine going out the back window. If it rolls, it don't get hit. There's a distance loss, but not that much.

I would do what mugen-racer said or just have the antenna tube hidding in the body That is what i do. It seems to work good like that

LOL, I have snapped about 3 of the "antena tubes", this last one snapped a little more than 1/2 way down from the top so I did the same thing dinkin did, I used about an inch of fuel tubeing, and no more worries, it still stands pretty straight, but also has the flex so when it rolls (because it's just all out bashing fun) it don't snap, cheap easy fix, just takes 1 inch of fuel tube and 2 zip ties and about 30 seconds of time.

I broke my antena too.I only actually damaged the antena wire once but I went threw alot of tubes. The one i'm using now is really flexable so it won't brake and expose the wire when it rolls over.I've been using the same tube for like 6 months now and it's still fine. The other ones would brake off everytime I took the truck out and it led to the antena wire being rippied off.

what are you useing now? Got a brand name and/or a part number? I've seen tubes before (on the internet) that have a spring like deal at the bottom where it goes into the rx tray, but haven't seen or even thought of asking about it at my LHS............

This spring part comes with all GS storms, I havnt seen them anywhere else but mine has one, af first I thought it was kind of a dumb idea, but it holds up very well!, I took it off once and broke a tube on a very mild flip over, put it back on and flipped it several times, never broke one since! I dont know how this would work for an MT because of the way it mounts, but works well for me!

yeh i saw that @ my lhs and i asked the guy there and he said i would prob break it too

I've flipped the hell outta my buggy, NMT, and electric buggies and I have never broken an antenna. I CA glue mine into the holder so it can never come out and I've never had an issue.

I flip my truck all the time and never broke an antenna. But at least it don't cost much.

My Savage does a good deal of flips and rolls too, but I guess with the colder temps and the way it happens to land could have something to do with it, I've never had any problems with the tube coming out if the rx box, on the other hand it is a real bitch to get out because it fits really snuggly........

Yep dude,

I do this to all of my Trucks now and I haven't broken one single antenna tube since. Last time I had the antenna coming straight out of the top......it rolled so violently that the antenna tube snapped off wire and all and my maxx lost control and went into somones car....lol.

Peace
