You and Ed disgust me. Can't you guys clean up a bit?

Being that organized just isn't right!

The RC shop is a man's domain.
A sacred place.
We can fart. Drink beer. Belch.
Watch TV or listen to tunes.
Real men don't clean up!
Being that clean just isn't healthy!

Wish I could be a little more organized....

Nah... my shop is filthy! LOL I try to clean up as much as I can. If I don't I end up with parts I don't know where they go! LOL

Trust me.. the mini fridge is just outside the door... stocked with pleanty of beer! I usually go down there on Sunday's, crank the NASCAR race and go to town working on one of the rigs. There is pleanty of belching and farting.... LOL It is not called the dog house for nothing. LOL

Ok, here is my Hole in the wall...it is near unusable these days and i have taken to building and wrenching on the dining room table.....gotta get in there and clean it up......someday.

You guys think you got it cramped.

I have a 1 room apartment for all my poop.

This piece of furniture also holds my wine glasses and the good china.

Well, I'm starting to feel a whole lot better after seeing TalonOne's mess, so what the hell:
Located in the corner of the basement with a full sliding door and built on a shoe string budget:

Project X Factor still remains a shadow of it's former self:

The corner table I had to build and above it is the shelf I had to build to hold more junk:

Pictures016.gif

A shelf someone actually had the nerve to throw this shef unit away, can you believe it?? So what do I use it for; MORE F*CKING JUNK!!!

But at least the view from the work are is nice::banana:

The overflow of R/C vehicles finds their way on to the fire place hearth, my Hyper 7 and Mugen MBX5T:

And I also have a bench in the garage for the drill press and bandsaw, later after I get a tread mill for my fat ass I will move everything into the room behind it and get one of those fancy lathe/milling machines:

heartbreak, I thought I was the only one that had Associated MGT wheels and tires on their savvy.

Nope, 1500; I got a deal on 'em I couldn't pass up from a right-awesome guy. I find they're the only tires that hold up to the 14mm hex. All the Traxxas ones just plain don't hold up to a big block (no surprise!).

I ended up getting mine off of ebay, new from a kit they were selling off, for about $35 shipped for the set. I just like the wheel/tire combo of the MGT better than most other styles.

Sorry for the filth. We just finished a bathroom remodel so the wifey decided to invade my room (the garage) with the overflow of crap.
Here is my mess.

Hey sweetdiesel, in the 3rd and 4th pic, what is that stainles steel thing between the drill press and bench vice?

It is a 5.7 liter capacity ultrasonic cleaner. Cuts down on cleaning time and does a great job.

I turn the heat up on mine and make scrambled eggs still in the shell.

Having a USC is great. Just toss the parts in and in 10 minutes they are cleaner then new.

Nice Power supply you have there as well.

Where can you pick up one of those ultra sonic cleaners? That looks like a really nice tool to have around. What type of solution do you put in it?

Nice work spaces guys. It is really cool to see where you guys sit down and get to work. My space used to be the dining room table until last year when were able to finish the basement. So I know where you guys in tight spaces are coming from.

Tom you can pick up the USC on ebay. You want to get the type that are used in medical labs or industrial grade. The smaller ones meant for jewelry do not have transducers that are very powerful. Though you can clean jewelry with the higher grade units, as a justificiation for your wife about the purchase. :) The other important feature is to make sure you get one with heat, the USC does OK on it's own but it's the heat that really helps break off the dirt and oil.

I find that simple green and water does the trick for most parts. For the really tough stuff I use Oil Eater and water in a 10% solution. There are many other cleaning solutions you can use, but the main thing is to avoid acidic solutions which will damage the tank.

The USC also does a fantastic job of cleaning bearings. 10 minutes in the tank and they are super clean. A light oiling afterwards and they are good as new.

That is where I used to wrench on my rigs when we were in a small townhouse without a garage. The wife hated it! There was a time when we ate dinner on the couch for a whole month because my Savage was in pieces on the dining room table. LOL
