You and Ed disgust me. Can't you guys clean up a bit?
Being that organized just isn't right!
The RC shop is a man's domain.
A sacred place.
We can fart. Drink beer. Belch.
Watch TV or listen to tunes.
Real men don't clean up!
Being that clean just isn't healthy!

Wish I could be a little more organized....
Nope, 1500; I got a deal on 'em I couldn't pass up from a right-awesome guy. I find they're the only tires that hold up to the 14mm hex. All the Traxxas ones just plain don't hold up to a big block (no surprise!).
Hey sweetdiesel, in the 3rd and 4th pic, what is that stainles steel thing between the drill press and bench vice?
I turn the heat up on mine and make scrambled eggs still in the shell. It is a 5.7 liter capacity ultrasonic cleaner. Cuts down on cleaning time and does a great job.
Nice work spaces guys. It is really cool to see where you guys sit down and get to work. My space used to be the dining room table until last year when were able to finish the basement. So I know where you guys in tight spaces are coming from.
Tom
Tom you can pick up the USC on ebay. You want to get the type that are used in medical labs or industrial grade. The smaller ones meant for jewelry do not have transducers that are very powerful. Though you can clean jewelry with the higher grade units, as a justificiation for your wife about the purchase. The other important feature is to make sure you get one with heat, the USC does OK on it's own but it's the heat that really helps break off the dirt and oil.
I find that simple green and water does the trick for most parts. For the really tough stuff I use Oil Eater and water in a 10% solution. There are many other cleaning solutions you can use, but the main thing is to avoid acidic solutions which will damage the tank.
The USC also does a fantastic job of cleaning bearings. 10 minutes in the tank and they are super clean. A light oiling afterwards and they are good as new.
That is where I used to wrench on my rigs when we were in a small townhouse without a garage. The wife hated it! There was a time when we ate dinner on the couch for a whole month because my Savage was in pieces on the dining room table. LOL
