Not wanting to be accused of being negative here on my thoughts of what NASCAR has become, but what's the deal with AB? Bud as far as I have seen, will not be back as a sponsor on any car next year, The Busch series will no longer be the Busch series as it become Nationwide and Coors Light (a personal favorite) has taken over as the official beer. Certainly it doesn't all stem from the Jr deal. With Williams (F1) not doing all that great their cars get limited exposure and I haven't noticed if they still have Buttwiper as a sponsor either but I heard rumor that just the name on the air intake of the Williams machine was about an $8 million/yr deal. They seem to be lacking their witty commercials too, with football in fullswing and baseball playoffs going and Nextel Cup in their playoffs so to speak their seems to be a serious lack of the funny Bud commercials. Just wondering if there's something out there as to their sudden departure from some major marketing venue's?

Ok, but what about the other stuff? Sponsoring a series and being the official headache agent? I've always found it ironic how they tote themselves as the one true American Beer Co and all about America yet they buy foreign made aircraft to fly around on (blimp excluded, I'm referring to their flight department and ownership of several french owned and built Falcon's.

Interesting on Evernham acquiring Bud to sponsor one of his cars, wasn't he against alcohol sponsorship (like Petty not running for Bud Pole, etc) or was that Gibbs?

I know a few proud american's that drive BMW's, Mercedes, and Lexus's - does that mean they are not American?

I'm pretty sure it was Gibbs who was dead-set against alcohol sponsorship. That came up when they were discussing the possibility of Jr. going to Gibbs Racing.

I have no idea what is happening with the series sponsorship. I don't know if it was that AB just didn't try or if Nationwide just brought more to the table. AB always seemed to have a big interest in motorsports so I don't know if they have other plans or if they've just decided to step away.

No because I'd be one of them! I wouldn't trade my bimmer for anything....

What I meant was the number 1 corporate aircraft in the world is made right here in the states and the french thing they own is...well...a turd! But you would think a company that is so open about being supportive of the American way would buy the very best America has to offer in the form of transportation, which just so happens to be number 1 in the world.

I understand what you mean, but on the flip side everyone has their own tastes.

Speaking of companies and "being American" - Wal-mart a company that's always tried to push the "American" image, if they were a country it's number one importer would be China - you have to search high and low for American items in a store that wants you to believe otherwise.
