Does the savage come with an AM radio or FM...cuz if it's FM then I can just get my channel that my Lynx 3D is on and use that

Mine came with an AM radio 27Mhz channels.

Nope never mind it comes with a Am radio."The TF-4 radio system features super narrowband AM reception for long range driving" thats what the site says.

damn...i think i'm leaning towards the savage but everytime I look at the features...it turns me off...things that are very much standard on a maxx come only as an overpriced option for the savage...I can deal with all the options but why can't they have an FM radio????...you know much a new receiver costs?

Botton line, the AM is less exspensive for them to incorperate in the RTR kit. I like my FM better and just swapped the receiver out with another of my less used R/C trucks. The AM is running that right now. It would be nice if the Savage came with all the really cool goodies but it doesn't. Anyway, that would take some of the fun out of it. Think about it, nothing cool to buy to fix it up better than your buddies truck! That would kinda suck (smile). I think the pre-painted body was worse than the AM. What if a couple people show up with "Out Of the Box" trucks. You better not look away or how will you tell which is yours until you see reaction to your controll attempts? That's part of the fun, painting the body to make it unique from others. The trucks themselves can easily be made identical.
Happy R/Cing (rain here rest of week...Bummer!).

LMAO at woodie!

almost every RTR will come with an AM radio, kwong. Besides, the receivers are not that much money. tower sells them for 69.00 and my LHS has them for 59.00

price u pay, for having a good radio like the Lynx. i was aware of that before i bought it. its like a nice car. sure u can get an old used ferarri for maybe 50 or 60 grand, but u will still pay 300.00 for an oil change, and 3000 for a tune up. thats the price of luxury.

hmmm...well I think I know what I want for the truck...I know i'm not gonna race it, so i'll "rice" it out. First i'll get a FM receiver on my channel, then the electric start, then the reverse module..that'll all add up to a pretty penny...oh yeah...and I saw this thing that OFNA sells called diff lock which kinda turns the diffs into LSD since they don't sell solid front/rear axles

I'll probably use it strictly for hill climbing and general bashing...I got a few places I can go

I can't remember the model no. but there is a HiTec universal RX that retail for about $40. I'm not exactly sure how it works, but I know it adjusts to the crystals you use. So if you use JR crystals in the JR TX and in the HiTec RX it should work.

agm - kwong uses a hitec lynx 3d fm radio just like me. no other receiver besides the DCX will work.

What is DCX ? I use the Novak XX-Tra FM Synth RX's and those work just fine with the Lynx. Is that the one you were talking about?

And Kwong, even if it did come with an FM TX/RX it would be VERY entry level and only jack up the price. It would still be something worth upgrading.

DCX stands for Dual Conversion Cyrstals. Technically I don't know but your transmitter and receiver must use DCX set if it is dual conversion, and single conversion is it is not DCX. Make and sense?
