AM or FM

FM is better. You will get better range, stronger signal, less interference. All good things. If you go FM, go 75mhz. You will have more choices of channels

I'm with Nitro Dave on this one. You can get into the different signal spectrums as well and what runs the tightest.

From PPM, PCM and HRS modulation, you can't go wrong.

AM is more prone to interference and range issues. Yes, it works, but when you run FM you will notice less issues.

ALWAYS run with a failsafe no matter what you go with.

Yes, agreed. FM is a lot better. I'm running FM on my onroads and the Savage is my only AM. I have to keep my Nextel away because a friend keyed up and my truck went nuts for a little bit. Had to put the phone in the house while I ran my truck.

LOL...that is funny.

Hey, Pirata...this may have been what was causing your Savage to freak out the last bash.

He had some wierd throttle servo response on his Savage, and we couldn't figure it out for the life of us...but we both had our cells with us and on in case the wives needed to beg us to come home.

LOL! No poop! I always put my nextel away too! Ever notice what nextel phones do to a car radio? Just before they ring?

FM radios are less prone to this type of interference, but not excluded. There are some experts out there that claim cell phones wont cause interference at all. I'm not believing it for a minute. Just like they dont cause cancer right?!?!?

I live my nextel except for that problem. I got a call while I was in front of my computer and was hearing that darn crackling sound out of my speakers. I swear I could feel the tumor developing in my brain.

I did witness some interferance on an AM radio with my nextel. Only when I get a call though. I was tuning my GT4, and I got a call. As the phone was ringing, the servos started twitching. Also, a guy with a huge CB antannae I think caused my servos to go wacko. Also, dont forget those Sun bursts. That occurance where the sun send out bursts of energy that messes with radio waves. I also believe that there are some weird spots where there is constant interference. Where we run, there is a spot we always warn people not to run past. Once they do, the car runs away If they dont have a fail safe.

Dude...where's Mulder when you need him...unexplained phenomena, sun spots, freaky servos...sounds like something right out of the X-Files...:D

I tell you, its consistant in dead zone we avoid. The sun burst thing I have never witnessed, but I hear on the radio that it will effect fm radio transmissions. So if you hear your favorite FM radio station get all static like or cut out for a few seconds, the sun is to blame.
