RC Driving Style
Anyone using aluminum rims on their truck? I have these proline mambo's but i think i want the aluminum look and strength. Point me in the right direction, i can't seem to find any anywhere. Thanks
 
If you want a decent set of aluminum rims, RAMTech RC (a member on this site) makes some nice ones. I have a set that I am going to be testing and writing a review on. They are a quality product and look great. I have run them on both my T-Maxx and Savage.

It depends what you want to do with your rims. Sky has the Iron Cross, since he bashes alot with massive jumps and abuse. I also have Lighter rims for racing, and 2 new versions for serious bling bling. All of them were designed for strength, on Autocad Inventor and then on Finite Element Analysis. I put radii were needed, and took weight out where I could.

Check out RC Driver, they did 2 articles on my Vipers. One with the Hulk body, and one about the Chrome Vipers.

Those are some sweet rims there Ramtech RC. I mean really! Hey Sky lets hear that review. I'm really wanting to know how they hold up to some bashing. Especially the fit and finish. But I have to say the price is just right. Ramtech, can you possibly look into making a set of beadlocks??

RamTech's rims are the ones to get. Very nice designs. Durable, and is a lot better in price compared to anyone else.
 
I tried the route of making cheaper flat faced rims, about 8 months ago. But I couldn't get the perfromance I needed out of them. I bent a few of them wthin the first few weeks, just by jumping high and landing crooked. My 7 year old is a speed freak, and likes to slam into things at full speed.

Since I've had the Iron Cross on for about 5 months, they still run true and straight. I've seen movies of guys jumping the Vipers off houses, with no damage.

As far as the lowest cost, go for the Iron Cross or Rattler, they are the least expensive. Most of the distributors are selling my rims about 10% off my website price. Or, you can pm me and get 10% off the price as well.

Sorry to say, you and the rest of the crowd will have to wait until mid-Feb. I am currently away from home for some job-related training. I was only able to run the rims on the street while testing some of RAMTech's spinners...then I had to bolt for Nevada. I intend to put the spinners and the rims through their paces upon my return to home. Currently going through nitro-withdrawal...and it sucks.
 
I started designing the 40 series wheels this week. I'm trying to get the Sidewinders in 40 size. I have to manipulate where the face of the rims meets the hex, so I can get the tools to last longer. Rigth now, we are looking at a cost of $189 per set for Satin finish. Then, I think we will just offer polished finish, instead of Chrome.

I'll know in a few weeks exact cost and delivery.

Which rims are the racing ones i am interested in the lightweight ones.

Not as strong as the Iron Cross, but alot stronger than any of those flat faced rims you see by my competitors.

i am assuming these are dished wheels from what i know about cars

The Iron Cross and the Rattlers are old fashioned dish rims. The dish is concave.

The Vipers and Sidewinders are the new look of concave and then convex on the same rim. That is how I can get the zero offset, but still have the deep look.
 
so will the rattlers widen my stance at all
i need to widen this thing up it tips so damn easy

The Iron Cross and the Rattlers are 3/8" offset. It will widen your truck by 3/4".

The Vipers adn the Sidewinders are standard, zero offset.
 
do you lake anything that is wider? or is 3/4 as wide as you go?
i just looked on ebay
no rattlers do you have any in stock?
