Worth it for sure. I started with a dromida KODO and it broke within a couple flights. Swapped it at the LHS for a new one, and on the first pack had a runaway and it went into the pond. The Blade 180qx is MUCH more stable of a quad and makes learning to fly these things fun. Three different settings to get you going Stable: for beginners and best for filming as it can't bank as steep. SAFE: for higher speed and sharper banking angles, but still wont turn over. AGILITY: for having the ability to flip completely upside down for loops and what not. Can flip between all three during flight with the 3 position switch. Also comes with an onboard cam that was used to shoot the above Vids. Can also switch between picture/video mode, and start/stop camera on the remote. RTF for under $200. I get between 10-15 min flight times per battery.

Second Vid from this morning, and a couple pics.

That's awesome. I can budget $200 for a RTF quad. I couldn't bring myself to drop $1000 on one. I don't really care to much for the mini's either. Now Christmas is over I will be ordering me one in a month or so.

Looks amazing! The neighbors are now talking amongst themselves, saying that the local LEOs are using drones.

Why does the house on the bottom look like there's a fire in the carport?

The 180's predecessor, the mQX, was a hoot to fly also. I think I need to take mine out again.

I have been running about a pack a day in the same area, so thats why i havent done any more vids. Just the same scenery over and over and over again would get old. Getting much better behind the sticks. The ability to flip between modes with the toggle makes recovering from flips and loops much much easier. The only gripe i have: The landing gear sucks. I have glued it back together 4 times already and finally lost half of it today, so I'm currently flying with none. Its not a problem unless the cameras on as the motor mounts have skids on them to land on, but they dont extend lower than the camera.

Do yall know anything about the Traxxas quad Latrax? I've been checking it out. It looks pretty cool. I do have to purchase the camera separate but $200 for everything including camera plus a extra 700mah battery doesn't sound too bad to me. What's yall's thought?

Go with the Blade. Horizon stocks all the parts for them and they bind up to the Spektrum computer radios as well.

Any particular model? One cool thing I did like about the traxxas is the transmitter tells you how much battery life you have left.

If you're looking for just something to learn to fly, the nanoQX is my choice. It flies decently indoors and is very stable and can manage a mild wind outdoors. The 180QX is the next larger size and is also a decent quad. I'm picking up the brushless 200QX after the new year (my LHS was out of stock).

I flew the nano and the 180 back to back at the LHS. If you are looking for something to learn on, i'd start with the 180 as it flys closer to the style of the bigger rigs like the phantom and the 350. If your just wanting to piddle around the house and not go bigger, the nano would be fine.

I'm looking more to fly over some cool areas where I live so I will need something that will get some air under it. I will need to fly min 50-60 feet up.

The 180QX would be better then. I have its predecessor the mQX and it's pretty good outside except in anything higher than a moderate breeze. The next step would be the brushless 200QX which is a real hot rod and flies like the bigger 350 class quads.
