I have a Savage 25 that when I hit the throttle, it dies. I've adjusted the LSN both rich and lean, checked the back plate screws, the air hose, fuel hose, gas tank lid, and checked the carburator for tightness. When I have gotten it to run when I hit the throttle it's idle stays pretty high like it may me sucking air and it doesn't take long to get to hot. Where could the air leak be coming from? This truck has only been broken in and has not had much use at all. Any suggestions???

Deano, sounds like you have to go back to the factory settings and start your tuning over.
Sounds too lean to me.
Did you adjust the HSN??
Is this your first nitro??
LMK

My 18. did this..........i richen' the HSN Lean the lowin and tun down the idle but start bak w/ factory first like Ratzo said.

No, this is about my 5th truck. l"ll try to richen the high speed needle and see what happens. It just seems though that I get it running and it idles good but after letting it coast for a bit and tapping the throttle, the idle stays high and it wants to run off.

mine has just done the same thing about a week ago. take off the fule tank and look for a realy small hole check it all. the fule works on a preasure system if there is a little hole some where in the cycle it will get rid of the preasure. there for stoping you from reving it.

You may notice that it does some times do it and it sometimes dosent. but it is nothing to do with your LSN or HSN.

Well mine was not.

I put an air hose to the air line and pinched the gas line with my fingers and fuel blew out the tank lid. I did not see any leaks anywhere.

Just do what RatzoRC and i said, and go bak 2 stock settings.

Are you talking the 4 and 1/2 turns from fully closed, the settings for break in???

Yea but on some engines or different look in the book that came w/ the engine. Cause my .18 stock settings are 3 turns out @ HSN. So make sure u look @ the book that came w/ the engine.

found the problem. The carb jets where close to being fully plugged. Now it runs very strong!!!

those would be the openings in the carb that the fuel flows through, there's one under each needle.if they get dirty or clogged then not enough fuel will be able to flow into the engine, and it'll run lean.
