Afternoon everyone, I’m new here and purchased my first nitro rc a revo 3.3 and I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion on what to use for air filter oil until what I ordered is delivered
Welcome in!
It should not be dense/thick, and it should be sticky. If you're breaking in your engine, I'd say that air filter oil is not necessary. When it arrives, surely apply it

Make sure you're not drifting through dust clouds and such, otherwise driving for about 3 tanks without air filter oil is alright if your engine is broken in
A bottle of Yamalube Air Filter oil is designed for the role and a bottle will last you a lifetime of RC use.
It's a blend of a sticky oil and a solvent thinner, which you knead into the filter sponge (just enough to color the whole thing blue, i even blot the extra out with paper towels), and then let it air dry - the solvent part evaporates, leaving just the sticky oil making your filter way better at trapping dust.
I occasionally wash my filters out with dish soap, let them air dry, and re-treat with the yamalube, and they're like-new. I put the sponges in a ziplock bag and pipette a few drops of the oil directly onto them, then squeeze them around until its reached every corner of the sponges.

I know I'm new at sending messages. I been running nitro going 18 years or so. If I tried something that didn't work for me I would not post it. I would ask. I'm sure u have veterans longer than me at this hobby. Sorry if I steered any one the in the wrong direction. I still use transmission fluid for lubricants on nitro and also on air filters. I still have my first nitro car I've only rebuilt it once . Redcat tornado. It still runs fine.

Do you bubba.. ATF isn’t going anywhere near my engines.. Proper/capable Foam air filer oil is cheap insurance on a $600 nitro engine, and FAR superior to ANY hydraulic fluid.

Like I said. I use it. no one else has to only trying to help. Yeah $600 for an engine it's far to much. Next time let an Adult answer. And take an adult with you to the toy store. PS only trying to help

And I was simply weeding out bad information-at no point did I belittle you, or make any snide, or insulting comments. I provided factual info that’s related to the OP.. I wouldn’t run a subpar, and completely inadequate means of filtration if I were running a dozen $100 RTR replacement motors either.. Leave your passive aggressive comments at the door next time buddy-they won’t take you very far on this forum.
