anyone know of a way to get around the rubber air filter neck getting chewed up by the spur gear?

i was hoping there might be a different setup that might relocate the filter itself while rerouting the neck... maybe an aluminum neck or something?

any tricks i am missing for preventing this pain in the "neck"??? (yes, pun intended... hehe)

i am using a motor saver filter setup and i like it alot but i keep getting the neck chewed up no matter how i position it, and it actually happened on both the motor saver and my stock neck...

thanks

seem like you need to move your engine back a bit..i have the same neck it dont eat it up.

38T spur gear. If you are running a 40T stock spur that's why it's chewing it.

All you have to do is use the stock neck with the motor savor filter. Cut the MS back plate with a dremel to match the size of the stock air filter hole, and then insert the stock neck. Works like a champ! Heres a pic of what I mean

Hope that helps a little.

my stock neck doesn't have any problems maybe you shold adjust your engine placement

motor placement seems fine, the gear mesh is perfect... i tried it with my stock neck and i seem to have a lot more clearance... i seem to remember moving the motor back the first time i had it out for a run cuz it ate the stock neck, and after that i went to the motor saver...

so all i need to do now is get the dremel out and make the motor saver cage work with the stock neck...

thanks guys
