I was wondering if anyone has ever seen the Tornado for a 1:1 car. It uses no power and goes in the air filter line, the fan moves the air through in a better way than normal. I was wondering if anyone has ever seen one of these for Nitro engines. If not, i think i might make one. My family owns a tool & die shop and i can make just about everything.

I was thinking , But I might be wrong-but wouldn't that just blow the air and fuel out of the motor because of the port timing. There both open at the same time. And if that the case I think the car just might burn extra fuel! I might be wrong, I will check into it more because that might be a good idea! I know the tornado works off the air being sucked into the car by compression. And if you supercharge it like I seen before it might defintly blow it out because of port timing.

the tornado doesn't work like a supercharger though. It actually just changes the turbulance (sp) so that it goes into the airintake more efficently. thus making more power and better gas milage.

My bad I just checked out the tornado and it does not have any moving parts. I got it confussed with another product. The other product has a fan that spins when the carb is open, because of the air being sucked in. Thanks for the corection

sounds like a good idea, you should make one that goes right before the carb like into the coupler between the filter and motor so it spins it at the last moment to ensure that it doesn't get messed up going through the tube.

yeah...that's where i was planning on doing it. maybe i'll buy a tornado and reverse engineer it to figure it out. I was just wondering if it had already been done. Thanks

yea those tornados are only like 20 dollars good luck if you succeed and see a difference, you might want to patent it :) you might have a cool million on your hands.

i've started working on the design. hopefully i'll get some pics up soon. Geez, it's great having a dad that's an engineer! gotta love SolidWorks
